The Norton Building Concert Series has suspended all operations because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Because of the intimate, salon atmosphere of the venue, it is not possible for us to carry on concerts in the manner our audience and guest musicians are accoustomed to.
The previously scheduled 2020-2021 concerts have all been canceled.
We are deeply saddened by this situation, but know that the health and safety of our audience, guest musicians and staff must be our highest priority.
Previous Seasons have included a subscription series of 5 to 7 professional chamber concerts and periodic special event concerts in the 172 year-old, historic Norton Building in Lockport, Illinois. Concerts are presented in the fully renovated, acoustically superb, limestone walled loft atop the building. Norton Building concerts cover a wide range of classical programming from Baroque through the Modern period.
Invited performers have often included Chicago Symphony Orchestra principals, visiting world-class ensembles and soloists, as well as carefully selected, experienced local musicians.
The 2019-2020 Season was our 24th year of presenting classical chamber concerts in Lockport.
